Chestnuts in Australia are harvested from March to May and available from Premium Chestnuts Australia from March to July. Each variety has its own unique season. If you require samples it is best to order these VERY early in the season so that enough product of that particular variety will still be available when you wish to order.

PREMIUM CHESTNUTS AUSTRALIA CO-OPERATIVE has a strong export base and provides a comprehensive export service including packaging and dispatch, promotional material, the organization of import/export documentation and quarantine requirements.

QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS:
Japan	Phytosanitary certificate from Australian Quarantine Inspection Service, organised for you by Premium Chestnuts Australia.
Singapore	Phytosanitary certificate not required.
USA	Import permit and fumigation is required The buyer needs to organise the import permit. Contact USDA on http://www.aphis.usda.gov/forms/ . Form required is 'Application for Permit to Import Plants or Plant Products' obtained through PPQ Form 587. Premium Chestnuts Australia can organise the fumigation process or you may wish to do this yourself. N.b. we do not have any of the insect pests that the fumigation process is aimed at. We are working on having this step removed from your import process.
Western Australia	Inspection of chestnuts at our packing shed by AQIS is required. This is organised by Premium Chestnuts Australia Co-operative

FREIGHT
Air freight or refridgerated sea freight can be organised. Refridgerated road transport is used within Australia to maintain the cool chain.
